Nothing Special, Volume Three gets my attention because it seems to promise the fastest honest read on whether the book sounds alive rather than a lot of decorative noise.
A book in this lane does not need to reinvent the form. It just has to avoid bloated lore dumps and give the reader something solid to hold onto.
